Latest On ASUU Strike Today [7/6/2022]

According to ASUU and SSANU national presidents, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke and Mr Mohammed Ibrahim respectively, the Briggs committee has been meeting with the various unions since May 2022 to renegotiate their agreements.

ASUU national presidents, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke in a recent report disclosed that ‘‘There is progress both on FG and the Briggs committee meeting but it depends on the government side. We had a fairly good meeting we are still trying to resolve the issues. Until we get the final report from the government. We are trying to work in the same direction. They are also testing UTAS.’’

Reports gathered that the committee would submit its report to the FG this week or they could be given an extension.
Meanwhile FG and varsity unions’ renegotiation committee sitting will allegedly end today (if otherwise, this article will be updated).

On the live Interview between ASUU National President, Osadeke, and Brekete family station this morning Around 7:30am, the VC Network was bad but they allegedly later talked using phone call, the Brekete Family Coordinator petitioned Prof. Osadeke that ASUU Should accept the fund-raising proceedings and calloff the Strike.

In reply, ASUU national president said, “we don't want any third party Involved, but we're making progress with FG."

Meanwhile, ASUU President together with his team will be live on Saturday 11th June at Human Rights Radio and TV with Ahmed Isah (Brekete Family) to discuss some issues including the N18 Billion that's being raised for the union.
