[Full Report] UNIZIK Acting VC Suspends Medical Doctor Amongst Others Over Ajana Isabella's Untimely Death
The Acting Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi, following the tragic death of Miss Isabella Chioma Ajana, a 100-level law student, has suspended doctors, nurses, and security personnel on duty at the UNIZIK Medical Centre on the day of the incident, citing negligence to have contributed to the student’s untimely passing. In a press statement by the Acting VC, the suspension is going to run for 3 months in the first instance, during which all investigations would have been concluded. She also called for the immediate dismissal of the hostel supervisor of Elmada Hostel, who was in custody of the spare key and couldn't return it after repeated calls on her, adding that the relationship between the hostel and the university will be re-evaluated.
