The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has lifted the suspension of Students’ Union Government (SUG) activities on its campus, effective immediately, as announced by Registrar Dr. Mrs. C.N. It's no longer news that several tertiary institutions across Nigeria have commenced their admission processes for 2025/26 academic session through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) with candidates actively checking their admission statuses. This is to notify all prospective students of University of Nigeria (UNN) to ahead of Post-UTME/DE screening registration which will officially close on Monday, 22nd September by 11:59 PM, note that the university has reportedly adopted an automated screening system that will combine both JAMB-UTME scores and O’level results. Suffice it to say that there will be no manual grading for the screening process as every candidates admission chances will depend strictly on how well he/she performed in JAMB (UTME) and O’level results. The screening method is the proposed calculation method and the ratio to be used is 90:10 ratio when calculating scores. ie: 90% will come from UTME score, while 10% will come from O’level result. The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY) has announced the resumption of academic activities for the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka affiliated programmes with the Polytechnic for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. According to an internal memo from the Osun State Polytechnic through the registrar, Abiodun O. Oloyede, to all Nnamdi Azikiwe University students, the new academic session (2025/2026) begins on Monday, September 22, 2025. Lagos Island was today September 16, 2025, engulfed by chaos, as multiple fire outbreaks tore through some parts of the city buildings including markets within hours, leaving a trail of destruction and economic loss.
