Full Details & Video of Sir Paul Chukwuma's Security Personnels Bullying Gov. Soludo's Commissioner
In a shocking escalation of political tensions ahead of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election, a viral video has captured a confrontation at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Onitsha involving Sir Paul Chukwuma, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for governor, and Anambra State's Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Agha Mba.
According to reports sourced from eyewitnesses at the scene by EruditeNewsBlog before the violent confrontation and assault video surfaced, Sir Chukwuma arrived at the hospital with a team of security personnel overpowering medical centre staff. His intent according to one of the witnesses was to transfer them to better-equipped private facilities, citing inadequate infrastructure at FMC Onitsha to wit: lack of ventilators and emergency services which he claims exacerbates the state's health crisis under Governor Soludo's administration. "He attempted to remove the victims of the Onitsha gunshots, who are already receiving treatment, and take them to an unknown location. He is not a medical doctor, doesn't own a medical center and none of the victims is his relative." One of the posts on Facebook regarding the incident says.
However, the intervention by Commissioner Patrick Agha Mba (a native of Onitsha and a key figure in Soludo's administration responsible for youth empowerment programs like the 1 Youth 2 Skills initiative), who arrived to prevent what he described as an "attempted criminal act," by blocking the hospital's entrance gate with his car, turned the situation violent. Watch video below:
The event unfolds against the backdrop of ongoing insecurity and governance challenges in Anambra State, particularly in the commercial hub of Onitsha. Few days ago, operatives from the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra Brigade (OCHA Brigade), actually a state-backed task force, were implicated in a deadly shooting at the Onitsha Main Market near Emeka Offor Plaza.
The incident, which involved the fatal shooting of at least one pregnant woman and injuries to six to seven others, including traders, has drawn sharp criticism from opposition figures like Sir Paul Chukwuma. Meanwhile, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has since ordered the arrest and prosecution of the involved OCHA Brigade operatives, with the Anambra State Police Command deploying tactical teams to restore order and investigate.
The victims, currently receiving treatment at FMC Onitsha for gunshot wounds, became the focal point of the recent drama and trending report.
Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement on the incident as at time of this report. Hospital management at FMC Onitsha has not commented publicly, but the staff reportedly resisted Chukwuma's demands, emphasizing patient safety and protocol.
Political analysts while commenting on the incident via Facebook, tagged this a microcosm of the heated 2025 election race, where Chukwuma's YPP is challenging Soludo's All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on issues like security and healthcare.
Recall that, Sir Paul Chukwuma has previously (on November 8) led protests against Soludo government vigilante excesses. From the then report, he led a group of concerned citizens to the Anambra State Police Headquarters in Amawbia, Awka South LGA., to protest the assault and public stripping of a corps member, Jennifer Elohor, by local security personnel known as Agunachemba.
Addressing the protesting youths, Sir Paul said that corps members serving in Anambra come from various parts of the country, and Nigerians are watching closely to see if there are credible leaders in the state. He condemned the incident as an example of rising criminality, noting, that the level of lawlessness being perpetrated by these individuals are appalling and that everyone must rise to challenge them before this consumes everybody in the state.
Sir Paul stated that "the protest was not about him personally but about standing up for Ndi Anambra and the Nigerian people as a whole."
Meanwhile, this latest incident and the former has left many persons asking:
• "Was Sir Paul Chukwuma's action a genuine humanitarian effort or political theater?"
• "How will it impact the gubernatorial race?"
• "Will this lead to charges against his security team?"
