It's no longer news that Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has commenced her admission ahead of the 2023/24 academic session, however in this article I'll be highlighting the guidelines on what next to do on seeing Admission In Progress (AIP) in our JAMB caps. Before then, it's good to note that UNIZIK do have four admission lists, first on merit and it comes in batches (A&B), second is partly on persons being transferred to another course and supplementary, third is more of supplementary admission followed by Vice Chancellor (VC)'s list. And then the admission is being given based on JAMB quota as made mandatory to all federal universities in Nigeria. This is to inform all 2022/23 aspirants of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka that the school has release her supplementary admission form. The supplementary admission form is for aspirants who due to several reasons ranging from low cutoff mark among others, wasn't admitted. And it's normally released at the ending or even end of merit list (including those admitted base on Catchment and ELDS). How the supplementary admission application works: Unizik will announce that the portal or link for the supplementary admission form will be made available or opened on a certain date or day. According to ASUU and SSANU national presidents, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke and Mr Mohammed Ibrahim respectively, the Briggs committee has been meeting with the various unions since May 2022 to renegotiate their agreements. ASUU national presidents, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke in a recent report disclosed that ‘‘There is progress both on FG and the Briggs committee meeting but it depends on the government side. We had a fairly good meeting we are still trying to resolve the issues. Until we get the final report from the government. We are trying to work in the same direction. JAMB has released results of the just concluded 2022 UTME Examination. The examination body, made this known in a statement signed by its Head, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, on Saturday in Abuja. Some Muslim youths are reportedly planning a protest in Sokoto State to demand the release of two suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of Deborah Samuel Yakubu. According to report, the youths agreed to meet at the Gawon Nama Roundabout by 9am. Students of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) and Bauchi State University, Gadau (BASUG) have commenced the mobilization of their female colleagues ahead of their plan to stage a half-naked street protest against the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Some of the students, who spoke to New Telegraph on condition of anonymity, asked the Federal Government to resolve its problems with the Union to enable them to return to school. FG Pledges To End Agreement Reached With ASUU & Other Versity Unions

The Federal Government has reportedly expressed optimism that the decisions reached in its three-part meeting with university-based unions would yield fruits next week. The Head, Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr Olajide Oshundun, in a statement on Friday, said some agreements had been reached between the government and the unions. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, the Non-Academic Staff Union, and the Association of Academic Technologists are currently on strike. The unions embarked on strike actions while demanding improved welfare packages, better working conditions and implementation of various labour agreements signed with the Federal Government between 2009 and 2015. Academic staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other University unions will continue their ongoing strike as the tripartite meeting with the Federal Government ended in deadlock. The young lady, simply identified as Mirabel who trended in a viral video having carnal knowledge with a dog in the Lekki area of Lagos has reportedly died of infection at a private hospital in Yaba. ABSU School Of Medicine Loses NUC Accreditation On Medicine & Surgery

The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has reportedly withdrawn the accreditation given to Abia State University school of medical sciences for the study of medicine and surgery. The regulatory body withdrew the approval following a long trail of inadequacies at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba (ABSUTH) which is the training environment for Clinical Medical Students and forms part of the teaching facilities.
