It's no longer news that several tertiary institutions across Nigeria have commenced their admission processes for 2025/26 academic session through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) with candidates actively checking their admission statuses. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government of Nigeria urging swift action to resolve the lingering issues in our public universities. This is to notify all prospective students of University of Nigeria (UNN) to ahead of Post-UTME/DE screening registration which will officially close on Monday, 22nd September by 11:59 PM, note that the university has reportedly adopted an automated screening system that will combine both JAMB-UTME scores and O’level results. Suffice it to say that there will be no manual grading for the screening process as every candidates admission chances will depend strictly on how well he/she performed in JAMB (UTME) and O’level results. The screening method is the proposed calculation method and the ratio to be used is 90:10 ratio when calculating scores. ie: 90% will come from UTME score, while 10% will come from O’level result. The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY) has announced the resumption of academic activities for the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka affiliated programmes with the Polytechnic for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. According to an internal memo from the Osun State Polytechnic through the registrar, Abiodun O. Oloyede, to all Nnamdi Azikiwe University students, the new academic session (2025/2026) begins on Monday, September 22, 2025.
