What you should know about the attack on the Army Special Super Camp at Ngamdu by Boko Haram

The high rate of attack on Nigerian soldiers by Boko Haram terrorists, has called for a serious action by the federal government, most especially, the recent attack on the Nigerian Army Special Super Camp at Ngamdu, which I believe, is nothing but a counter-attack. It is evident that Nigerian soldiers have been targeted by the insurgents, following the claims by the military that, the terrorists had been largely defeated.

In a recent report, the Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Army Special Super Camp at Ngamdu (a border town between Borno and Yobe States), killed over 6 soldiers, injured the Army General and captured military operational vehicles, including their arms and ammunition.

The terrorists stormed the army unit with about 10 gun-trucks and 4 MRAP, beat the security checks and pretended to be friendly forces. They first attacked the Brigade Commander, wounded his ADC and later killed like six soldiers. I believe this to be a revenge mission or counter-attack against the armies because, this incident comes exactly after the Nigerian military force killed scores of Boko Haram fighters at Ngamdu in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

Recall that, the Boko Haram insurgents, few weeks before the recent attack on the military camp at Ngamdu, killed over 25 soldiers who were on patrol in Monguno area of Borno state.

Another reason why I said, "the killing of soldiers & capturing of military vehicles by Boko Haram terrorists could be a counter-attack" is because, the Nigerian military has repeatedly claimed that the terrorists had been largely defeated, but in the past few months, soldiers have been targeted by the insurgents.

• Over 500 soldiers and officers have been reportedly killed since January 2021.

• In February, about 20 soldiers were also killed in Malari, Borno State by the insurgents.

• Not less than 33 soldiers were killed early this year when two vehicles loaded with explosives rammed into a military convoy in Wulgo. There are other reports of attacks on the military, and this makes it clear that, the Boko Haram terrorists are on a revenge mission against the Nigerian Army.
