There’s always this tension being an aspirant, especially when admission starts. Most times you find yourself refreshing JAMB CAPS every hour, checking if anything has changed. Your friends have already posted screenshots of their admission. Some are celebrating, others are already talking about acceptance fees and clearance. That kind pressure!!! Then one morning, your own admission finally drops. Relief hits first… then confusion. What exactly do I do next? When do I start paying fees? Where do I even begin? Et al. The good news is that you don’t need to overthink or panic. The process is clearer than it first appears once you know the right order of steps. In this article, I'll be explaining in details everything that happens after UNIZIK approves your admission, including how to handle course transfers or supplementary offers, how to accept the admission properly, and the full onboarding process once your admission reflects on the UNIZIK portal.
Firstly, note that when UNIZIK approves a candidate’s admission, the university forwards the list to JAMB who then gives the final approval. Only after JAMB’s final approval does the admission become official and appear on the candidate’s JAMB CAPS portal.
Meanwhile, candidates can also check their admission status directly on their UNIZIK Post UTME application dashboard. If the school has approved your admission, the portal will clearly show it and direct you to go to JAMB CAPS to accept the offer.
Candidates should regularly check both their UNIZIK dashboard and JAMB CAPS for updates. Once the admission status changes to “Admission Approved” on JAMB or UNIZIK CAPS, the next steps begin.
For candidates who got transferred to a different course from the one they originally chose, including those that applied for supplementary admission into a new course different from what is on their JAMB portal, kindly note that any change of course must be done immediately after the admission drops on JAMB CAPS and before printing the admission letter. Do not print the admission letter until the correct course is reflected. This ensures the admission letter, school records, and later registration all match the new course.
Once your admission appears on JAMB CAPS, you must accept it online. Accepting the admission is compulsory before you can proceed to UNIZIK’s own portal.

After successful acceptance, wait for the admission to reflect on the UNIZIK CAPS/onboarding portal before starting the school’s internal processes.
The UNIZIK Onboarding Process Proper:
Once your admission reflects on the UNIZIK portal, follow the official Admission onboarding step by step guide. Complete the steps in order. Skipping any step will lock the next options on your dashboard.
Step 1: Go to the onboarding portal and log in with your Post UTME details to wit your email address or JAMB registration number, and your password.
Step 2: On your dashboard, generate and download your Admission Slip. Print a copy. You will need it later for biometric capture and physical clearance.
